About

A one-time risqué and glamorous speakeasy that has evolved into the essence of relaxed, California cool.

Tucked inside the historic and luxurious Colony Palms Hotel, the Purple Palm restaurant was inspired by the hotel’s first owner and Purple Gang member Al Wertheimer, a bootlegger from Detroit.

Embracing its original identity as a 1930s speakeasy that once played host to a raucous clientele of the Purple Gang and Hollywood’s elite, today the restaurant’s relaxed, social atmosphere and indoor-outdoor setting makes it the perfect place to enjoy a classic cocktail at the wraparound bar or dine poolside under the stars.

Executive Chef Nick Tall has created an innovative, yet approachable, menu of California cuisine. Sourcing from local and organic farms, each dish showcases the best of what’s fresh and in-season. The menu is enhanced by an inspired cocktail program that pays homage to the rebel spirit of the restaurant’s beginnings with spirited libations and a sense of humor.

Join Purple Palm restaurant daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner or light bites in the poolside cabanas.
